Have you got a question?

Does acupuncture hurt?

Many first-time patients are concerned that acupuncture needles will feel like hypodermic injections at the doctor’s office. They won't. Acupuncture uses hair-thin, flexible needles that you may hardly feel upon insertion. You may experience a distending or heavy, achy pressure which settles out relatively quickly. My intent is for your nervous system to relax into the parasympathetic nervous response (aka the ‘Rest & Digest’ response). Needles will be adjusted accordingly so your system feels safe to completely relax. In addition, I work with acupressure and acutonics (tuning forks), so there is more than one way to stimulate the acupoints. This means we don’t need to use lots of needles if it’s not appropriate for your system. Most patients leave the treatment feeling relaxed both mentally and physically.

How many treatments will I need?

The benefits of acupuncture are cumulative, so more then one treatment is usually necessary. As we are all unique, so too are the treatment plans required. This will be discussed during your initial visit.
